Navigating the Privacy Labyrinth: Preserving Individuality in Smart Cities and Autonomous Vehicles

The rise of smart cities and autonomous vehicles promises a future of enhanced efficiency, safety, and convenience. However, these technologies inherently collect vast amounts of personal data, raising critical concerns about individual privacy. This keynote will delve into the intricate web of privacy challenges presented by these transformative technologies. We will explore the different types of data collected, the potential risks associated with its misuse, and the ethical considerations that must guide development and deployment. Through real-world examples and insightful analysis, we will examine the crucial role of data anonymization, encryption, and responsible data governance in safeguarding individual privacy. Furthermore, we will discuss innovative technological solutions, policy frameworks, and community engagement strategies that can foster trust and ensure a future where technology empowers, not exploits, individuals. Join us for a thought-provoking exploration of the privacy landscape in smart cities and autonomous vehicles, and discover how we can navigate the path towards a future that values both technological innovation and individual freedoms.
